A man shared his case on Reddit’s “AITA” community, asking other users if he was justified in evicting his sister and her twin daughters from his house. This man claims that he and his wife were going through a difficult time when their sister got divorced, moved out of her ex-husband’s house with her two 16-year-old daughters, and wanted to live with the OP. Even though his wife had cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy, they still decided to welcome his sister and nieces into their house.
Because of the drugs and treatments she was receiving, the OP’s wife had lost her hair at the time, making her vulnerable. She chose to get a wig for herself since she was having trouble embracing the way she appeared. This helped her to feel more confident. Her spouse provided her with unwavering support and made every effort to restore her sense of beauty.
The two teenage children of his sister expressed interest in handling and playing with the wig. They even asked their uncle’s wife if they could have it so they could straighten and curl hair, but were informed that they couldn’t. In front of her husband’s sister and nieces, OP’s wife refused to wear the wig and didn’t want to be seen with a bald head. OP once heard his wife sobbing when he got home. Refusing to leave her room, she locked herself in. Once he entreated her to tell him what the issue was,
She informed him that his nieces had taken her wig without asking permission and had refused to give it back. They began laughing and photographing her as she came up to them asking for her wig once more. She went into the bedroom and refused to come out after realizing she was being filmed.
The way the teenagers behaved broke her heart. As soon as OP learned this, he ran to face his sister and nieces in the kitchen. The girls gave him the wig, saying it was all a joke and they were just trying to have some fun. The man became enraged and requested his sister to address their impolite conduct with them. However, she simply turned to face him and told him that he and his spouse were exaggerating the situation. The man became increasingly angrier as a result.
He decided to throw them out of his house even though he knew they had nowhere else to go at that point. Because he was friendly and hospitable, they teased his wife. They started crying and pleading with me to let it go when I told them about the eviction later because they felt I wasn’t serious, the man said. His sister broke down in tears and begged him to reconsider, but he was uninterested in her justifications. She then brought up their father, who made an additional attempt to persuade his son not to throw his sister out of the house.
The man wanted to know if his sister was right to think he overreacted, or if he was right to defend his ailing wife. Redditors expressed their thoughts. “NTA. Aunty Fascist said, “They’re sixteen years old, old enough to know better and understand that actions have consequences,” and that the daughters were to blame for treating the wife disrespectfully. Another commenter said, “If my kid did that when he was sixteen, I would ground him till he’s twenty-five, lock up the car keys, and flush his phone down the can.
“What would happen to them if someone shaved THEIR heads, laughed, and recorded it?” Laulau88foo questioned, saying the man was nice to let the girls stay at his residence even if they were impolite.
